Note to Self February 23, 2012

When your British publisher asks if you’ll sign “some” bookplates for the release of new editions of the JAG in space/Sinclair series in the UK, be sure to ask “how many is some?” before you cheerfully agree.  They must have sent me at least five hundred.  Perfidious Albion indeed!

If it weren’t a disservice to your UK fans, I might suggest fighting back with a similarly disconnected definition of the word “sign!” As it is, could I suggest the “autopen” (a multiple-pen copying system favored by Thomas Jefferson)?

I just received some interesting information: apparently, the autopen is quite popular among celebrities who have to sign things frequently, and was even used last year by the President to sign a bill into law! I had no idea it was actually in use by anyone.
